Ávila
Ávila is a town in the south of Castile, the capital of the province of the same name, now part of the autonomous community of Castile and Léon.The town is situated 1.128 m above the sea level on the riverside of the river Adaja. The city is famous for its medieval town walls (Las Murallas), the best-maintained example to be found in Europe.Avila also is renowned for Teresa of Avila (1515 to 1582), the Carmelite reformer, who lived there.
